Family Therapy
FCHC, we witness first-hand the devastation that substance abuse can have on the entire family. Addiction is a condition that affects not just the individual, but almost everyone in their life. Therefore, our program offers Family Therapy services to loved ones learning to cope with family or significant others in all stages of recovery.
When appropriate, an individual therapist will contact a client’s family within their first week of admission to introduce themselves and discuss the participant’s individualized treatment plan surrounding family involvement. Family sessions will be held by appointment when deemed necessary by a client’s therapist, or per the client’s request. Since all FCHC’s clients are adults, the decision to pursue family therapy will be encouraged, but ultimately determined by a client’s desire to engage support systems.
- Office- based Medication-Assisted Treatment (OBMAT): Medication-Assisted Treatment is the use of FDA-approved medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Clients who present with withdrawal from Alcohol or Benzodiazepines will be referred to detox prior to receiving officed-based MAT. Treatment components include group therapy, individual therapy, peer support, case management.
- Psychiatric evaluation: FCHC’s psychiatrists will be utilized as deemed necessary during clinical evaluation. FCHC’s Medical Director, Psychiatrist, and/or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner are available for treatment for clients who present with co-occurring disorders and can be treated in an outpatient setting based on ASAM criteria. Clients who present in crisis shall be referred to a higher level of care or in the event of an emergency may be referred to the local ED.
- Criminal Justice System: Full Circle Healing Center offers offender specific treatment to promote and support treatment rather than incarceration to non-violent offenders. Treatment is evidenced-based focusing on criminogenic needs, risk-need-responsivity, reducing recidivism, and adherence to probation, parole, or other legal agencies. FCHC offers assessments and evaluations including LSCMI, Criminogenic Risk and Need Profile. FCHC is committed to helping individuals whose crimes are rooted in substance use disorder and will work with the criminal justice system on treatment and reduction of recidivism rather than incarceration. Clients may be referred through probation, parole, Magistrate, Circuit, or Adult Drug Court. Clients will be screened and assessed based on ASAM criteria for outpatient level of care.
- Peer Support: FCHC understands the importance of Peer Support. FCHC will utilize WV credentialed peer support specialists in accordance with SUD Waiver’s regulations and guidelines. Clients have the option of utilization of Peer Support.
- Case-Management: Full Circle Healing Center offers case-management and coordination of care to support our mission and vision of providing a full-circle of care for our clients. FCHC will provide Targeted Case Management services which are federally defined as “those services which assist Medicaid eligible recipients in the target group to gain access to needed medical, behavioral health, social, educational, and other services.” Targeted Case Management is to be provided at a level of intensity required by the recipient. Services must be provided in settings accessible to the recipient. FCHC clients have the option to accept or reject the utilization of case-management services. Targeted Case Management will be provided by master’s level clinicians.
Our family affects who we are and who we become, both for the better and for the worse. We learn our vocabulary, our habits, our customs and rituals, and how to view and observe the world around us.
